way home/away

i remember a couple of days ago when people from work were talking about life/weekends in the province - on one hand, going home is always an exciting trip. on the other hand, going back to the city for another week's work never fails to give us a tiring and slightly anxious feeling. good thing our eyes can feast on these things highways provide before locking stares with our computer monitors.

balai isabel

these pictures were taken 2 weeks ago, all souls' day. after spending the night in lipa, we went to talisay to check out the church where my sister's wedding will be held. irony set in as it turned out that the church won't be able to make it to the wedding date(they're still building it. they thought they can finish by december). good thing there's a church near balai isabel. an interesting church where there's a statue of st. guillermo (not sure) in front holding a book (i assume it's a bible) with a human skull on top of it. i don't know the story behind this patron saint of theirs but i'm sure it's a cool one.

the o.h.

the old house back in lipa. aside from a few termites, ants, spiders and snakes(per my dream), nobody lives there anymore and nobody's trying. it's a bit sad seeing it this way, i always wanted a house i can go home to in the province on weekends or holidays. and oh, r.i.p. chupetsky, cleo and brando.

newborn

these babies were born last august. there were 3 of them but only one remains. i'm not sure what happened to those that died but the survivor was the biggest of the bunch. i guess the other 2 weren't that healthy. the makati kids fondly call the survivor balbon, sometimes abnoy. looking closer though, it's just a normal-looking siamese cat - with hair! :) we'll miss this one, he's going to have a new home soon. nico better take good care of him..

mabait

this was actually taken last august on i think our 2nd day living in quezon city. kyurifury and i were up the whole night arranging and rearranging our (semi) furniture around our unit when this mouse came out from our stuff. i wasn't sure if we brought with us the thing or if it was already a resident there. i chased it towards the door to our laundry area, i thought it would be ok to just let the rodent go since it was really small. however, it chose to squeeze itself under a tall and heavy plastic cabinet instead of just getting out of the room. i noticed the bottom drawer of the cabinet is open so i pushed it shut to prevent the mouse from entering since there were pieces of clothing there. i tried to look for my friend but to no avail. i tried to think where it might be.. as i opened the drawer, there it was, lifeless in between the drawer and the cabinet itself. its neck must have been broken since there was no blood. i put it inside a plastig bag before i threw the poor mouse away. it was then that i took this picture. kawawa naman :( kulit kasi e

tingala

as i've mentioned before, the sky, especially clouds are among my favourite subjects. they're relatively easier to photograph because of the sun (unless it's nighttime, of course) and their usually vibrant colours around 5-6pm(there's no need to worry about your photograph's dullness). moreover, clouds' formations are constantly changing, giving me unique photos most of the time. i really love looking at them, even without the camera. clouds' outlines and shapes are a treat to look at especially on a sunny day(with a pair of sunglasses). my favourite of the bunch is the 5th picture. the buildings' silhouette is perfectly focused and the 2 huge clusters of clouds in the background looks as if they're about to converge in the middle :) the sky is probably one of the most photographed gift of nature and here's my take on it.

around the house

as some of you know, i'm currently unemployed, which only means the only productive thing i can do is to stay home and think of things to do to better the life of the bacon-bringer, kyurifury. proof of that is the foam of detergent still inside the washing machine's tub. but hey, i'm to start my new job this october, and i'm thinking.. i'll miss these moments, mas madali pa rin to kesa maging empleyado, mas masaya pati si kyuri :)
